EDC Vegas, like most world-class music festivals, brings fans and performers from all over the world together in one place for days of fun and collaboration. With so much talent in one place, it's no surprise that artists who are rarely in the same city, or even country, at the same time use this time to work together and build relationships.

Just a few days ago, an EDM events calendar listed a show at XS at Encore in Vegas where famed DJ and producer Diplo would be performing a B2B set alongside world renowned artist Marshmello. For those not fully versed in the many acronyms and abbreviations dance fans use to communicate, B2B is shorthand for back-to-back. When used in reference to dance music, back-to-back is a situation where two or more DJs perform onstage at the same time. The term goes back to the years of vinyl DJing when one DJ would be playing music while the other, with his or her back to the audience, would dig through the crates looking for the next song to throw into the set. Nowadays, with the advent of digital turntables and laptop DJing, the artists are rarely "back-to-back" but the term has stuck around to represent the phenomenon.

In any case, one fan noticed the announcement and promptly tweeted a picture of the listing, asking Diplo if the exciting news was true before she went ahead and bought the ticket for the show. Showcasing the beauty of the Internet and social media, Diplo actually replied to the fan's tweet, confirming the B2B set with Marshmello with a simple reply; "this is real life b2b with my lil cousin marshmelloooow." For fans of both world famous artists, it's a night they surely won't forget, bringing together two of dance music's heavyweights for one night of thumping bass and tons of fun.

Our only hope, and this might be a bit greedy, is that this is just the first collaboration between two major artists performing at EDC. Who knows what kind of magic these two artists will be able to create but we're looking forward to seeing what can be done and, don't forget, your LED shoes will grab everyone's attention while you watch and listen to your favorite DJs spin.
